Mallet Ensemble Quintet

Jazz Pianist Bill Evans' piece works perfectly for this mallet ensemble setting. Arranged with rhythmic interest along with tranquil sections that explore the chordal textures that are synonymous with Evans' style. Suitable for advanced high school or college group.

Percussion Ensemble Sextet

This classic Brubeck tune in 9/8 time is arranged here for marimba, vibe, timpani, bells, tambourine, bongos, snare drum, cymbals and gongs. A written vibraphone solo section is included with optional chord changes for improvisation. This is a great concert closer suitable for advanced high school or college groups.

Percussion Ensemble Octet (vibraphone feature)

A medium difficult ensemble piece with a "Metheny" feel. Instrumentation includes: Piano, vibe, marimba, bells, chimes, timpani, snare drum and accessory percussion. Suitable for the advanced high school or college group.

This medium difficult four mallet solo features an ostinato left hand pattern that supports a right hand counter-melody. A "new age" genre piece that shifts through a variety of feels and requires good four mallet independence.

A medium grade four mallet vibraphone solo suitable for high school performance. This beautiful ballad is a good introduction to four mallet independence and solo playing.

Vibraphone solo

A fast paced and often times reflective piece that utilizes the entire instrument and demands accurate dampening, pedaling and sticking. Based in the key of A minor, this work has an almost Spanish guitar like sound in several sections. Includes a CD of a performance for reference.

Vibraphone solo

A medium difficult vibe solo of this classic Monk standard. Requires good four mallet ability along with dampening and pedaling. Great piece for recital or contest.

Vibraphone / Marimba Duet

A medium difficult duo in the contemporary jazz idiom that features each player performing thematic material along with optional improvised sections. Good four mallet skills are necessary in each part. A low A Marimba is required.

Jazz Vibraphone Solo with Piano accompaniment

A medium difficult Jazz Vibe feature with an open solo section. Lead sheet style notation is used showing chord symbols throughout. Includes CD of a performance and a piano with click track practice track.

Jazz Quartet - Vb, Pno, Bs, Dr

My tribute to the great Milt Jackson and the MJQ.
This is a four-song “suite” composed and performed in the spirit of Milt Jackson and The Modern Jazz Quartet. I wrote this four song "suite" shortly after Milt passed away in October 1999. The music is reflective of the style the MJQ played in.
Lead sheet style printed notation for Piano, Vibes, Bass and Drums. CD Included.
